Dr Philipp Ackermann, Ambassador, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany and Shri Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, IAS, Additional Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, GoI visited the Indo-German Agricultural Market Development project locations in Lucknow. The German delegation was accompanied with Ms Ingeborg Bayer, Counselor, Head of Department for Food and Agriculture, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany and Mr. Kaspar Meyer, Spokesperson of the German Embassy New Delhi.

The purpose of the visit was to interact with the farmers of the IRADA Farmers Producer Company that have recently completed their first export consignment of Mangoes to Europe. The delegation also interacted with the women self-help group that are currently working to improve the value chain of mangoes.

The meeting was attended by the representatives from Plant Protection division, Directorate of Marketing and Inspection, Directorate of Agricultural Marketing and Foreign Trade, and farmers of the project locations.
