The Indo-German Agricultural Market Development (AMD) Cooperation Project hosted a one-day joint conference with the Directorate of Agricultural Marketing and Foreign Trade, GoUP to discuss the findings of the four studies that were completed under the Project at Lucknow on 22 February 2023. Mr. Richard Moddy, Team Leader of the Indo-German AMD project highlighted the objectives of the four commissioned studies under the project. Mr Anjani Srivastava, Managing Director, Uttar Pradesh Agricultural Marketing Board expressed the importance of implementing the key findings of the studies at the local level. Mr Pratyush Ranjan Singh from AMD project shared the findings of the European Union Market Regulations, and specifications for exports of ginger and turmeric. Mr. Alok Kumar Srivastava, National Consultant of the AMD project presented the findings of the value chain analysis studies report, APMCs diagnostic study, and export-oriented business plan of the farmer-producer organization engaged with mango and green chili cultivation to all the participants.
Mr Rishirendra Kumar (IAS), Director of the Directorate of Agricultural Marketing and Foreign Trade, GoUP suggested to focus on the collecting MRL baseline data and conducting the feasibility analysis of testing requirements.
The Conference was attended by around 25 members from the Directorate of Agricultural Marketing and Foreign Trade, GoUP, Directorate of Marketing and Inspections (DMI) Regional office -Lucknow Government of Uttar Pradesh, Mandi Secretaries, Exporters and FPC representatives from Varanasi and Lucknow districts.
